What do you think of the most recent quit threats on the back of last night's race? The threat of Red Bull pulling out and Audi taking over the team? (Rumors of course) Do you believe that red bull would pull out? Do you think that they would sell? Do you think they can really force any engine change? Lemme know please

I don't see it causing a change in engine regulations. But I do think it's possible that they quit F1 since they've quit other series when not winning before. Audi taking over would be cool.

Throwing their weight around might get some minor rule changes (maybe some kind of restrictor for the mercedes) if they're lucky. I doubt the threats are particularly serious, I believe they said the same thing last year at one point.

Ferrari got on the podium. No rule changes.
Regarding Red Bull, they're throwing weight trying to get a bone.

From what rumors I've read, Red Bull and Renault's business relationship has soured, leading to speculation that Red Bull would be looking for a new engine supplier. It is a coincidence that Red Bull contract with Renault expires the same time Audi would look to join F1. Audi would likely try to buy Red Bull and turn that team into an Audi factory team. Still a lot of pieces to fall into place, though.

I fail to see what Audi gains from F1. Can't utilize Quattro, TDI, or e-tron.

And Red Bull obviously uses F1 as a chance to utilise and further develop caffeinated beverages?

Red Bull is trying to pull a Ferrari. Ferrari has threatened to leave F1 before, and it's always been a case of "the boy who cried wolf." They aren't going to leave F1, they've sunk way too much money into both RBR and STR to just call it quits. They're mad because they aren't doing so hot now, but they'll figure it out eventually.

and as far as Audi taking over... I seriously doubt it. As someone else mentioned, Audi doesn't really have anything to gain from entering F1, because they don't really have as much to market there as they do LeMans (with TDI and now e-tron). If any VAG manufacturer entered F1, I'd guess it'd be branded as Lamborghini. Why? Because eventually they're going to end up with hybrid and turbo'd cars eventually, and it could be a half decent way to market that tech for their brand. It works for Ferrari, and it could definitely work to try to push Huracans...
